Small campground of 11 sites. Long, gravel, winding, bumpy road off of the main road to get to campsites. We were in a truck with a motorcycle carrier on the back and the motorcycle was bouncing all over the place—pretty scary. Defiantly would not have tried it in our sedan—that’s for sure. Tried to camp here on a Saturday evening...arrived at 7pm. All campsites were full. Really wish they took reservations! Had to turn around and find alternate plans (was a 40 minute ordeal) We will try back again another time. ☺️
Went over labor day weekend and it is just gorgeous up there. My fiancé surprised me with this hidden beauty and I just loved it. Wish we could of stayed longer.
Best hidden gem in North Georgia! We spoke with a park ranger who said that funds for maintaining Dockery were limited because of so many complaints from people saying that there's no cell service at the location. Really??? I really hope they keep this space going.

This is a pretty lake and the trail to the AT is a good one. Just know that the remnants of Hurricane Irma are still around. Lots of fallen trees. Most around the lake have already been cleared but many on the trail to AT still exist and create an additional challenge.
